Did you know that the main road that connects the Florida Keys to the mainland of the United States, Highway US-1, goes all the way from here to Maine? This highway is one of the longest in the entire country, stretching 2,369 miles from the north to the south.
This very long and important road connects most major cities on the East Coast, and makes its final stop right here in the Florida Keys. The "Mile 0" sign in Key West happens to be one of the most photographed highway signs in the whole state of Florida. Although some might say that Fort Kent, Maine, and Key West, Florida are the most important stops on Highway 1, we actually think the only one you have to remember is Mile Marker 85.5 — right here at the Postcard Inn!
