Capt. "Kiwi" Hughes

Captain "Kiwi" Hughes moved to the Florida Keys from the Bay of Plenty in New Zealand in 1989. He came to the Florida Keys to attend a wedding and stayed for the wonderful fishing and weather that the Florida Keys has to offer. He began backcountry fishing eight years ago and loves all aspects of the sport. He likes fly fishing, lite tackle fishing, sight fishing on the flats, in other words, he loves it all. He recently helped one of his anglers to a 130 pound tarpon on fly and another angler caught a 200 pound bull shark.

Whether taking customers out fishing or fishing on his own, Capt. Kiwi spends a lot of time on the water perfecting his craft. Holiday Isle has been "Kiwi's" base since 2002. Capt. Kiwi is available for full and 1/2 day charters.
